Verstorbene
SISTER MARY ELIZABETH GLUECKSTEIN
Was born March 20, 1942
Died September 30, 2022
Sr. Mary Beth was given, at the time of her vows, the dedication to grace the world in the name of the Precious Blood of Jesus. Like the grace of this dedication, she lives among us in the community, ministries, and healthcare services as the precious flow of the grace of this title.
Born from the love of her parents, Dorothy and Henry Glueckstein, in Milwaukee, WI, on March 20, 1942, she grew in love and grace among her 6 brothers and 3 sisters. Encouraged by her great aunt Sr. Kostka Glueckstein, a Wheaton Franciscan, to become a member of the community, she entered in 1960. Formation time was followed by first vows in 1963 and final vows in 1968.
Her ministry formation in the medical field and pastoral ministries prepared her for service and leadership. Over the years she received education and degrees of a BSN from Marillac College in 1967, an MSN from the University of Illinois Medical Center in 1979 and an MA in Bioethics from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2000.
She served in the community’s formation ministries and as a wise medical consultant especially in the Wheaton, IL and Milwaukee, WI areas. Everywhere she served, gratitude and grace grew. Her brilliance and compassion were experienced by all those with whom she lived and served.
She moved to Our Lady of the Angels Motherhouse in Wheaton, IL, in 2019 where she continued to share her love and wisdom among the Sisters. She passed through the door of death into the fullness of God on September 30, 2022.
We pray that our hearts will continue spreading her goodness.
